Mission
Our mission is to modernize probate laws so that they are clear, fair, and built for today’s world. We are tirelessly working to:Make sure your last wishes are honored and ensure that your children are protected, both emotionally and financially. This means providing robust guidance and resources that empower families to make informed decisions during difficult times.
Close the gaps that allow fraudsters to exploit modern technology in order to fake signatures or manufacture electronic documents. By implementing innovative solutions and strict regulations, we aim to safeguard the integrity of probate processes.
Help everyday people safeguard their loved ones, their homes, and their unique stories—without needing a law degree to ensure they are treated fairly. We believe that legal empowerment should be accessible to all, enabling individuals to navigate the complexities of probate with confidence.

Built from lived experience
Modernize Probate Law is powered by KYTE LLC (San Diego, CA) and founded by Alexys M. Monico. Inspired by early parental loss, this work exists so children and families don’t lose the voices, guidance, and verified wishes of the people they love. We advocate for secure, video-authenticated options that strengthen—not replace—traditional estate planning.

A Love That Endures The Heart Behind myKYTE
There are stories we carry so close to our chest that they become part of our breathing.
This is one of mine.
Have you ever lost someone so completely that you begin to wonder if there is more—another place, another realm—where they might still remember you?
I have.
In the quiet, I used to ask: Do you still know who I am?
I can still feel the warmth of her final embrace.
The soft V-neck angora sweater. Cold pearl buttons against my cheek.
I can hear the gentle tapping of her hand, the one that always brought comfort, always brought laughter.
Even now, when I close my eyes, the memory returns with painful clarity.
Our fingertips lingering, reluctant, before finally letting go.
The end of something sacred.
When I try to picture her face, no matter how dark the room or how tightly I shut my eyes, I see only light.
Blinding.
Too bright to hold.
Perhaps that is why I have avoided funerals most of my adult life.
Goodbyes terrify me.
Not the sadness, but the finality.
The word “forever” pressing down on my chest.
Every loss leaves a hollow.
An echo.
A space where love once lived.
A few weeks ago, I broke my own rule.
I attended my godfather’s funeral.
My godparents didn’t know that their arms would be the only place of safety I would find that entire year.
My godfather was a sanctuary to me, a living bridge to my mother.
I chose not to let fear decide for me.
I went to honor him.
I went to stand beside my godsister.
What I didn’t know was that this single act of courage would quietly change my life.
During the service, I noticed my godfather’s sister. The last time I had seen her, I was fifteen. When I approached her, she gasped, “Rosy… Dios mío… Martita!”
Time collapsed.
“You knew my mother?” I asked, my voice unsteady.
Her eyes softened. “I loved your mother. We all did. She was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.”
I stood there, stunned.
In my entire life, this was only the second time anyone had spoken about my mother with love.
By the end of that day, five people—five generous souls—shared memories of her with me.
Stories that had been buried by silence.
By fear.
By someone else’s version of the truth.
They revealed a woman I was never allowed to know.
A woman who was magnetic.
Kind.
Full of light.
A woman whose presence stayed with people long after she left the room.
For years, I had been fed a narrative that erased her humanity.
As I listened, something shifted.
The pain didn’t disappear, but it loosened its grip.
Fragments of my mother returned to me, reclaimed from gossip and shame and secrecy.
I also heard, gently but clearly, what my heart had always known.
My mother was a victim of domestic violence.
She tried to leave.
She moved.
She fought to protect her children in a time and culture that offered her very little protection.
Her courage was real, but still, her life was taken.
As a child, I lost my mother in a single moment.
Her voice.
Her dreams.
Her wishes for us, gone with her last kiss.
I never got to ask who she was becoming.
What she hoped for us.
What she would want us to remember, if the unthinkable happened.
Now, as a mother myself, as a sister, a wife, a grandmother, I feel her loss in a way my younger self never could.
I can imagine her fear.
Her heartbreak.
The agony of knowing that the man she once loved, the father of her children, would end her life.
This grief, this unanswered longing, is one of the reasons myKYTE exists.
myKYTE was born from a single, aching question:
What if love didn’t have to end in silence?
It is a place where your voice can live on.
Where your stories can be told while you are still here.
Where your love doesn’t have to be guessed at.
Through video, voice, written words, transcribed messages, apologies, memories, wishes, myKYTE allows you to say the things that matter most, in your own time, in your own way.
Because when you are gone, it is not you who carries the weight of your absence.
It is your children.
Your partner.
Your friends.
The people who will wonder, endlessly, what they meant to you.
Life does not come with a rewind button.
We cannot re‑record our final words once we’re gone.
But we can choose this moment.
We prepare for everything else—our money, our possessions, our businesses—because they can be counted, catalogued, monetized.
Yet none of it travels with us.
There is no moving van behind the hearse.
What remains is love.
A memory.
The stories we leave behind.
With myKYTE🪁, you can record and re‑record as often as you need.
You can grow.
Change.
Rewrite.
Return.
You can:
Tell the people you love exactly what they mean to you
Share stories that have lived only in your heart
Leave clarity instead of confusion
Leave love instead of silence
This is not about death.
It is about connection.
About presence.
About making sure that when you are no longer here, your love still is.
Because in the end, it’s never about what we leave behind.
It is about how we leave those behind.
